We are excited to announce a significant change within Pitch and Mix. After many successful years as our Music Director, Steve Cox has stepped down from his role. As a founding member and our first and only music director, Steve has played a pivotal role in shaping our group. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and hope to see him return in the not-too-distant future.
We are pleased to welcome Jo Bird as our new Music Director. Jo began her musical journey at the age of five, playing brass instruments in a Salvation Army band. Over the years, she has been actively involved in brass bands, earning a music degree in brass band studies and performing internationally.
Jo's introduction to barbershop music came seven years ago through a friend, and she quickly fell in love with the genre. Currently, she serves as the Assistant Director and bass section leader at Lace City Chorus, where the group is preparing for an international appearance in Kansas, representing Region 31 of Sweet Adelines. Additionally, she is part of a ladies' quartet called Perfect 4th, which has spent the last year performing together.
As a committed member of Pitch and Mix and former chair of our committee, Jo brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to her new role. We are excited to work with her and look forward to a successful future together.
